Introduction :
IMO Talent is a talent-matching platform that connects skilled African professionals with companies seeking to hire talents such as developers, product designers, data analysts and other technical roles. As Product Designer, I was brought in to enhance the user experience of some of their websites such as Skill pages, Project Page, Landing Page journey optimising both the employer and talent sides of the platform.
Problem :
Employers were experiencing friction navigating the talent-pool interface and filtering candidates, leading to slower hiring cycles and sub-optimal matches.
The challenge: Simplify employer workflows and improve talent discovery.
How I Did It :
Gathered Insights on Hiring Operations and User Needs: Captured pain-points around onboarding, and features and services showcase.
Redefined Streamlined User Flows: Refined the UX flow of each pages with key focus on highlighting the problems, offerings and how it works.
High-Fidelity Mockups: Created high-fidelity designs for each of the pages while highlighting key section, including hiring process, offerings and benefits, and testimonials section.
Component-Based UI Design System: Created high-fidelity designs to ensure consistency across the pages for intuitive user experiences. Handed off assets to the dev team for implementation and worked in collaboration on responsive layouts for both desktop and mobile.
Results :
Reduced the time for employers to submit a talent request by 30%, improving efficiency in the hiring process.
Increased the match-rate of PHP developer profiles to suitable job requests by 35%, resulting in more relevant candidate suggestions.
Improved talent profile completion rates by 25%, as the improved onboarding experience made it easier for developers to showcase skills and connect with employers.
